Every society has a secret group within it. A group spoken of only in whispers and hushed tones. A group which is denied by all, but is undeniable in all aspects. That is what the Hidden Acolytes are. A society within the Pantheon that reveres not the Oni but the living city that they reside within. Haison's Caretakers, those who know the darkest and deepest secrets. Founded by a lone Necromonger by the name of Nyx, the Hidden Acolytes know the true origins of the city and are sworn on pain of death to never reveal that secret.
Each Acolyte is adorned with a mark, this mark is tied to their very essence of being. Should they utter the deepest secret of their order the mark will unmake them. Some believe this is held over from the Death God Tsuishi's rule. There are rumors that some of the Oni know this secret but they consider such things inconsequential.
The order is not lead by an Oni, but by the strongest known Titan to exist. His power is equal to that of the strongest Oni. Yet, they deny his existence. They deny him a rightful seat amongst their ranks. Some Spawn Lords believe this is by some grand scheme, and others think this is perhaps a way to keep the ancient laws of seven and thirteen in place.
